The V60 has LED headlights that create a strong identity, and give you the best possible view at night. The T-shaped light signature radiates strength, and LED Illumination technology switches between dipped and full beam to provide the best view and avoid dazzling road users. Our range-topping Full-LED Active High Beam Illumination technology adapts the light pattern on full beam, giving you a larger area of light, and includes Active Bending Lights that turn in the same direction as the steering wheel (up to 30˚ in either direction), for a better view through corners.

The power-operated tailgate for the V60 makes loading and unloading easier. You can open or close the tailgate using a button on the car’s remote control, tailgate or dashboard. Combined with the keyless entry option, it also offers a hands-free function that allows you to open or shut the tailgate simply by moving your foot under the rear bumper.

The technology in the V60 is focused on your needs, to help make driving easier and more enjoyable. The digital driver display behind the steering wheel puts important information directly in front of you, and automatically adjusts brightness to surrounding light conditions. Our voice control function allows you to operate the climate control, navigation, media and telephone features just by speaking. It recognises natural speech, so there’s no need to memorise a list of set prompts or phrases.

Other useful features include a head-up display that puts key information directly in your line of vision and Sensus Navigation, our fully integrated, connected navigation system that helps you get where you want to go as easily as possible.

The V60 is available with an optional panoramic roof that bathes the interior in natural light. Its large area means that those in both the front and rear seats benefit, while special tinted glass reduces the transmission of unwanted heat and UV radiation. A power-operated sunshade made of perforated material makes it easy to keep strong light out if necessary, while the large front part of the roof can be tilted or opened to provide extra ventilation. The roof can be closed using either the remote control lock button or, for cars with keyless entry, the door handle button.

The optional Four-C active chassis is an electronically controlled damping system that makes the V60 even more adept. It makes up to 500 calculations per second to assess current road conditions and driving style, adapting the responses of the shock absorbers to provide the optimum balance of comfort and control.

When switching between the car’s drive modes, the Four-C system also adjusts the suspension characteristics. Comfort mode prioritises a smooth ride, while Dynamic mode sharpens the steering response and handling. Individual mode allows you to create your own combination of settings.

The optional Harman Kardon Premium Sound system in the V60 guarantees a high-level sound experience, with 600 watts delivered to its 14 speakers through a 12-channel amplifier. This system optimises the response of every individual speaker to ensure a powerful audio experience for everyone in the car. Automatic Level Adjustment creates a consistent level of volume and intensity, while special algorithms adjust the output to compensate for external noise.

Run-off road Mitigation helps make accidents where a car leaves the road – a common type of accident – less likely to happen. It detects if the car is about to leave the road unintentionally between 65-140km/h and then uses steering and, if necessary, brake support to guide the car back on the right route.

If the car does leave the road, Run-off Road Protection – another Volvo Cars innovation – reduces the chances of serious injury. It features an energy-absorbing structure in the front seat frames that cushions vertical impact in the event of a hard landing. In addition, optional safety belts will tighten electrically to hold occupants firmly in place.

Park Assist Pilot is like having a valet park your car perfectly for you, every time. It uses sensors to gauge the size of parallel or perpendicular spaces as you drive by them, and lets you know if one is big enough. It can then steer the car into a parallel space just 1.2 times the car’s length. You operate the gears and brakes according to the screen prompts, and your car does the rest. In addition, Cross Traffic Alert helps you to reverse out of a parking space with increased awareness by warning you of potential road users directly behind you.
