In parallel with Volvo's values of innovation, sustainability, craftsmanship and design, Human Made Stories conveys the Volvo philosophy to always put people first by telling the stories of three defiant pioneers: people who inherently do things differently, challenge conventions and create their own path.
4 NEW WORLD RECORDS
A British kitesuring family is celebrating after successfully taking on the Round the Isle of Wight World Sailing Speed Challenge and setting four new World Records.
Professional kitesurfers - Steph Bridge and sons Olly (18) and Guy (16) - took to the waters around the Isle of Wight on 30 June 2016 on their foiling kitesurf boards. Travelling the 50 nautical miles around the coastline of the Island on the south coast of the UK, they average speeds between 16 and 20 knots.
Guy was first around the island in a time of 2 hours 23 minutes and 25 seconds, averaging speeds of 19.68 knots, with the World Sailing Speed Record )WSSR) Council confirming that Guy is now officially the Fastest Kitesurfer around the Isle of Wight. He also set the record for the Fastest Singlehanded Sailor around this island at the same time.

Classic Car Sho
Holdcroft Volvo Stoke attended the Classic Car Show, along with Volvo Owners Club
Holdcroft Volvo Stoke recently attended the Footman James Classic Car Show, at Event City in Manchester on 17-18th September 2016. We supported the Volvo Owners Club with the loan of new Volvo XC90 to display on their stand at the show. Our car featured alongside some classic Volvo Cars such as a P1800, 960, 440, 480 and an Amazon. Our XC90 completed their line-up, showcasing Classic Volvo Cars through to Modern Day. We had a great time, visitors to the show were allowed to explore the new XC90, inside and out, it was very warmly received by visitors who had not had the chance to experience the new XC90. And there were a few disappointed people who had recently placed deposits on similar cars from rival brands. The Classic Car Show is one of the biggest classic car shows in the country. It's packed with hundreds of motoring icons ranging right through the ages; from some of the earliest vehicles ever made, through: pre-war motorcars, 50's, 60's, 70's classics and future classics or youngtimers from the 80's, and 90's. Cars of all kinds. Famous marques and models - from outrageous supercars you may have dreamed owning when you were a child, to the family 'daily drivers' that you fondly remember. British sports cars and saloons, American muscle cars, European throughbreds, Sporting greats and more. It's a motoring nostalgia trip at its very finest! In addition to the hundreds of wonderful cars there are also Trade Stands, Restoration Demonstrations and Live Rally Action! In short, great to support our owners club and a great opportunity to showcase the new XC90 to potential new owners.
